A fruity wine based cocktail that you’ll be making and drinking all year round, it’s full of a range of delicious fruits, spices and sugar. The perfect party drink, sangria can be drunk ice cold on a summer day or you can serve red wine sangria at room temperature in cooler weather.

This fun drink is believed to have originated in Spain, and there are many variations in how it can be made, so ingredients can vary.

Some of the ingredients that sangria can contain are:

  • Fruit juice e.g. orange juice

  • Spices like cinnamon, cloves, star anise

  • Fruits like oranges, nectarines, peaches and apple

  • Liquor or spirits

  • Red or white wine

It can be hard to find a recipe that you love, and its annoying to collect all of the ingredients, some (like the spices) that you will only use once. That’s why we have created a blend of all of the spices, dried fruits and sugars you need to make sangria simple and easy.

What You Need

x1 ‘Red Wine Sangria’ or ‘White Wine Sangria’ Cocktail Mix

x1 bottle of red wine or white wine at room temperature


How To Make

1.) Add the cocktail mix and wine of your choice into a 1L jug and mix until sugar is dissolved

2.) Chill in the fridge for 1-24 hours (although it tastes amazing straight away).

3.) Enjoy over ice and garnish with a slice of fruit.

What Wine Should You Use To Make Sangria?

For red wine sangria, you will want to use a red wine that is low in tannins. Tannins are responsible for that bitter flavour in wine, so instead of desperately trying to mask the bitterness with more sugar, opt for a wine with low tannins. Options for red wine sangria:

For white wine sangria, you will want to use a white wine that is dry and high in acidity. This is so that the sugar in the sangria mix nicely balances with the wine flavour. Options for white wine sangria:

I Like My Drinks Strong, What Spirits Can I Add To It?

Sangria has been traditionally made with a range of liqueurs and spirits. Ones to try are:

  • Brandy

  • Peach Liqueur

  • Cointreau

  • Vodka

Pretty much anything! Think fruity or nearly tasteless.

Does Sangria Have To Be Sweet?

Sangria can be as sweet as you like it. Simply add or remove as much sugar as you desire to help it reach your desired level of sweetness.
